Based on the world-famous children's books by Poortvliet e Huygen, the gnomes saga inspired an animated series (1985) called The World of David the Gnome. The PVC miniatures of the Spanish Star Toys are based on that series, while the Giochi Preziosi action figures are based on the recent animated series.
